About Us
Life Centre Non-Profit Housing Corporation is located at various addresses on Marsh Lane in Ajax, Ontario and was built in 1992. The complex includes a low-rise apartment building with underground parking garage, 13 townhouse blocks, and a community centre.
There is a total of 126 residential units (40 two-bedroom townhouses, 23 three-bedroom townhouses, 3 four-bedroom townhouses, 13 two-bedroom apartments, and 47 one-bedroom apartments). The apartment building is divided into a senior’s wing and a family/singles wing. The apartment building contains the following amenity rooms: office, lounges, laundry rooms, and common washrooms. In the community centre, there is a hall, kitchenette, office, common washrooms, and basement workshop.

The corporation is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors operating the housing portfolio under the Housing Services Act 2011, which is provincial legislation. The Region of Durham, as one of the provincial Service Managers, provides funding to the group that is intended to assist with the cost of providing subsidies to 90 tenants. In turn, Life Centre Non Profit Home Corporation (Life Centre) accepts the responsibility to follow a wide range of regulations and procedures that are required by the Service Manager.
Life Centre has engaged Progressive Management and Consulting as the property manager, a position that it has held since 2005.

The Board of Directors has enjoyed many years of consistency and low director turnover. The corporation is governed by its internal bylaws and policies, including the requirement to have between five and seven directors that make up the board.
